i'll be alone next week~!! i mean..the other 2 are going on vacation b4 me. 1 is going to visit family in the states and the other going to japan.

i really really hope my new foreigner card comes in so i can go to taiwan with another foreign teacher friend :) . ugggh i need time to relax outside korea. but my 1st week of vacation i wanna explore all over korea and bond with koreans i met and meet new people :) . one and a half weeks till summer camp is over >.<

  • systems

like, i'm trying to create a system for things like organizing tasks, goals, schedules, keeping the house tidy, and digifying my workspace. hopefully i can eventually do that with homework and hobbies.

i swearrr i have problems breaking up projects (personal, school, and work) into smaller pieces. ugggghhh.
so far, i want to make a dropbox for my music files, hw, teaching-related stuff & regular documents (not the pdf stuff).. and start using my new apps.
i got so many new apps.. LOL.
apps that are part of chrome & my phone:
    springpad
    do it tomorrow
    webapps:
    WeekPlan
    Google Calander
    new teaching accounts:
    learn boost
    classroom dojo
    new org android apps---
    organization / productivity:
    out of milk
    reverse checklist
life logger (to keep track of what I'm doing

    awesome/random:
    Idea Generator
    Korean Food Guidebook
    Ringtone Randomizer
    Ringtone Maker
(i spent so much time making ringtones LOL).

    ...
i also have new korean language apps and actual korean kid apps (one is pororo themed) to learn vocab and practice lawl.
  • so

So cleaning up i read some essays from previous scholars in that random book we always get during the chungnam TaLk uhh.. meeting. One person in '09 basically had a short paper about her cultural trip to Busan while the person before me wasnt in the table of contents for one book and talked about having issues differentiating lessons between grades. lol.. i feel like they never got to experience Korea or have enough good experiences with the students like I did xP.

  • Living on your own

    i want......to...

    socialize spontaneously,
    have food in the fridge,
    maintain hobbies,
have a fun and creative work environment,
    make time for homework,
    keep a workout routine

ughhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh. reevaluating. it's almost time for summer vacation. but i have summer camp to plan and essays to finish. T_T not to mention only 2 weeks of uninterupted vacation! (I mean, I know I don't work much, but I gotta plan faaaaast to enjoy those two weeks).

    -------------

If only I had a template for living on my own. If I constantly move, it would be best to develop some kind of guideline for starting over all the time.

    1) access living situation
    -housing
    -neighborhood
    -food/groceries
    -money
-find out where the medical facilities are

    2) adapt to work environment
    -plan goals
-take into account supplies and materials
-create a routine for evaluations, further education, and more improvement
    -figure in a wardrobe

    3) socialization
-check out restaurants and places to eat
-join groups online to meet more people (meetup.com, Facebook, interpals.com, couchsurfing.org)
-find places to take classes on the side (yoga, language classes, cooking)

    4) health (physical & mental)
    -outline a basic workout routine
-prepare food earlier to store ..to make cooking easier in the future( i.e. cutting up vegetables & freezing them once a month for a month's cooking)
-work schedule around for enough sleep

-give proper time to write letters, find gifts, and contact home

    5) goal achievement & organization
    -physical & online calendars
-personal support in each area (like, workout / hobby buddies, discussions with colleagues, cooking days with friends)
-easily transferable notes and insights of creativity (..notepads, boards on the wall to write stuff, phone apps)
-rewards system (either a social event or some kind of splurge)
-list templates (for buying things, things for repair, people to see)

    ------------------
some neat creative things I've heard include keeping a jar filled with strips of paper written with things to do. (like anything from skydiving to cleaning something around the house). I was thinking of doing this to get things done. Maybe I can have a jar for things to do weekly or daily & have another random reward jar for myself.

Also, one of the clutterdiet lady's vids talks about having a little bag with things to do when waiting. Like, it has envelopes and stuff to write letters. Or, iono. But, it sounds like something handy to have around. Maybe I can have a folder like that.

    ----------

I just want to be better at breaking down tasks so I can get them done. Like, actually DONE. It sucks when you buy postcards to send, but end up writing them like 2 to 3 weeks later. OR MONTHS -_-;;. I owe a penpal a postcard. <_<;; and I have gifts here for people back home but I never actually made a master list to reference for the future

  • guys & girls & organization & clips

    just a reflection:

guys like girls, girls like guys. if either have a bad relationship with the other sex, they like say things like, "i hate boys.. I hate girls" ..but some might bend over backwards to get someone they're attracted to to notice them or something. or waste their time on the "douche"/ "douchette".

    -------

    organization

I just joined clutterdiet.com. It's a bit helpful so far. Been watching tutorial videos and stuff. Gonna start making changes to organize my room and eventually my life. I need to get down some routines and figure things out so I can more easily transition into different environments. (Since I want to travel). it would be nice to SCHEDULE times to go onto Facebook rather than go on everytime I'm bored.

I liked the part about organizing things in categories by usefulness to declutter. I'm gonna get some mini trays so I can "dump" stuff out of my pocket cuz I always dump shit wherever when I change clothes. Probably 4 trays for each room. (Bathroom, Kitchen, Bedroom, Laundryroom).

Green- put things here that I'm gonna take to go before I leave the house
Yellow- to be stored in place easily accessible to get again
Red- to store for a long time for memories or as something seasonal/event oriented

After that, I plan on getting some laminated posters & tape them to some surfases (like sliding doors & kitchen cabinets), so I have somewhere; everywhere--to write down thoughts/notes. I guess I can characterize them with Red-Yellow-Green also.. like things to do, things to try ..err.. iono.

I really wanted to decorate my apartment but don't wanna ruin the white wallpaper. Maybe I can get some string & tape each end on surfaces that won't be a bitch to remove the tape in the future. Then I can hang pictures of you guys & other things.

I just want my place to be organized and more lived in. Then I can work on organizing and mapping out my classroom while figuring out how to make my schedule & calendar more portable and easily editable/accessible. I kinda want a tablet or a netbook to take around. Maybe I can "rent" my friends netbook and see what happens. I like my laptop but I just want to keep it as a desktop that just stays at home in one place. I don't always like reading on LCD screens and I want something to take to the beach. D:

As for wardrobe: I really wanna have a semi-complete wardrobe like..so I don't have to go shopping all the time. I mean, I have underwear. But not as many t-shirts, thin socks, or summer clothes. Also, I'm not eating as much as I used to ---gasp--- and I've been losing body fat with my more active lifestyle =P. (It's probably the beer). haha.

I'm here for another year, might as well make it the best-last year in Korea.

    ---------------

  • "the best fifty I've ever spent"

I'm thinking of making a movie.

i'm still recovering from my compounded drinking at the moment..

wed -- teacher dinner soju + 2nd round + soju with friends

thursday -- "going away" hangout for someone finishing their contract. we had chicken and then went to a bar

    friday -- drinking-with-korean-friend-couple-that-i-haven't-seen-in-a-while .. beer @ a bar, then beer @ noraebang

    today shall be crowned...

saturday -- drinking with koreans and foreigners at a mud festival while also chillin at the beach

    -----------------

but basicaly the premise of the movie will be a floating $50 dollar bill. some person asks a person to "do whatever" with them relationship-wise for a certain amount of time. maybe, a $1 a day's worth. then it just floats around, all over the world.

and you guys can see how the story goes.

I'M SO EXCITED! It'll be a "no regrets" thing. ^_^

  • @.@

woke up early from drinking. got home at maybe 3 pm or 4? i don't remember lol. freaking hwesik (teacher workparty) and drinking with some TaLKs.

i eventually fell back asleep after texting some friends back home but like they were such weird dreams.

iono i forgot the 3 but the last one was about something like i moved in somewhere and there was a filipino family that owned it but they didnt like the others. and for some reason, the grandma and adult daughter spoke to me in english while the kid son was speaking in korean. i guess that's officially my first dream with korean in it.

then i a couple of days ago i had a dream about my mom getting hyper on chocolate or something lol

  • online classes suck

    deadlines. discussion board posts. wtf.

soooooooooooooooooooooo, here's my last ditch effort at education.

I'ma try to transfer to University of Missouri's online Bachelor's in General studies. (Similar to other school's multi-disciplinary education). I've been looking for self-paced classes online. Like, you have an end due date (like within 6 weeks to 9 weeks to finish the class' work / exams :D

So, you basically create your own due dates.

    Tee hee.

But yeah, I'm just going to see if I get accepted or not.

    http://online.missouri.edu/index.aspx

they also have self-paced master's degrees.

  • met some koreans

i went on craigslist and found a link to a korean language exchange in daejeon. i'm tired of seoul right now. iono lol. i think i just need a break.

i met a lot of korean university students. i was soooo happy. it was raining and i didnt finish my hw and like, I was losing energy and didnt bring enough money to have after the hangout in daejeon (20 bucks for a 3hr chicken, beer and soju buffet) but luckily i was able to borrow some money from someone i met and stay at their place LOL.

omg it was so kewl. many of the koreans were there for the first time too (the language exchange). i wanna hang out more often there! they even meet up at a cafe on sundays to actual work on the language stuff. (cuz yesterday was more like a social).

i really wanna learn korean but like i dont have the routine or support to help out.

    so yeah.

i'm glad i was brave enough to go to a social event where i didn't know anybody.

i'm so glad i met more koreans!

i learn so much just from meeting people.

there's so much i wanna work on personally and fix like:

    -social akwardness
-judging or having biases against people
-be able to adapt more to constant change
-finally actually learn a second language
-stop worrying about what peolple think of me
-be more open and ascertive (sp?)
    -express my emotions better

    -----
i've been contemplating lasik surgery or something. it's only like 1000 dollars here conpared to the u.s. iono, i'm just scared of it going bad. but i've been hearing good results from people that got it here. and i'm still young so the best time would be to do ot now.

    UGH
